Why this workshop

Four reasons the workshop pays off.

01

From hearsay to understanding

No more half-knowledge from LinkedIn posts and newsletters. In four hours you get a clear picture of what generative AI can actually do and where its limits sit.

02

Orientation in the tool jungle

Which model fits which purpose? You get an overview of Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and the surrounding tools, without drowning in buzzwords.

03

Hands-on practice

Prompts, role briefings and productive workflows are run through with examples from your everyday work. You can bring your own tasks.

04

Risks on your radar

Awareness block on hallucinations, data protection, copyright and silent dependencies. So you can use AI without opening unnecessary traps.

What stays with you

Lifetime access to the online course material.

After the workshop your login keeps working. Whenever we update the material, you get the new version automatically. No expiry, no re-booking.

Workshop content

Four building blocks across four hours.

Block 01

Foundational understanding

How generative AI works at its core, what a language model is, and where marketing claims and actual capabilities start to blur.

  • Place tokens, context windows and temperature correctly
  • Assess strengths and limits of today's models
  • Realistic expectation management with stakeholders
Block 02

Vendors, models & tool landscape

Overview of the leading vendors and their model families. Which model fits which task, and which purpose-built tools sit on top.

  • Anthropic Claude (Sonnet, Opus, Haiku) and tool variants (Claude Code, Claude for Office)
  • OpenAI family (ChatGPT, Codex) and sister products
  • Google Gemini, Mistral and other alternatives
  • Selection criteria for your own use case
Block 03

Prompt engineering & productive workflows

Use instructions, roles and the context window deliberately. Move from a one-off question-and-answer game to a reusable workflow.

  • Write clearly formulated instructions and role briefings
  • Apply few-shot and chain-of-thought patterns
  • Build prompt libraries for recurring tasks
  • Practice with real tasks from your daily work
Block 04

Use cases in daily work & awareness

Concrete applications for your daily work, and the risks that can come with them. Where AI helps, and where caution is required.

  • Use cases for research, writing, analysis and code
  • Spot hallucinations and intercept them
  • Handle data protection, copyright and confidential content correctly
  • Keep silent dependencies on AI tools in view

Questions

What we are often asked.

Do I need prior knowledge or my own account?

No prior knowledge is required, the workshop is explicitly for beginners. Your own accounts are helpful but not a must. We work with free trial access where possible. If you already have a Pro account, feel free to bring it.

Which topics from your daily work get covered?

You are welcome to bring two or three typical tasks from your everyday work in advance. In the hands-on part we build the exercises around your examples as much as possible, rather than around demo cases.

How does this differ from the other AI trainings at QCT?

This workshop is the entry-level format and covers fundamentals. For compliance duties the AI literacy under Art. 4 EU AI Act takes over. If you want to use AI as a tool in QA, the Workshop: AI as QA tool fits. If you have to evaluate AI systems methodically, see Workshop: evaluating AI.

Is participation documented?

Yes, all participants receive a confirmation of attendance with the topics covered. It can be used for internal compliance records and HR files, but does not replace the formal AI literacy training under Art. 4 EU AI Act.

From gut feeling to a structured AI understanding.

Solid fundamentals, hands-on practice and a clear view on risks. For teams about to start with AI in the coming weeks.
